We got the incredible opportunity to be a part of the “Build Her Dreams” Bed Build event a few weekends ago hosted by the New River Valley Home Builders Association and Sleep in Heavenly Peace NRV.
Over 125 volunteers showed up to help!

Our master electrician Erin volunteered with other local women in the construction and homebuilding industry, including painters, project managers, carpenters, realtors, masons and many more. They worked together with middle- and high-school aged girls to build safe and sturdy beds for local kids in need of a safe place to sleep.

125 total volunteers worked at bed-building stations like wood sanding, staining, and hardware installation to finish 40 beds by the end of the day!
It was super exciting to teach the girls in our community how to use power tools and stay safe while working with heavy-duty equipment. We heard inspiring stories from other women in construction, including how they got to where they are today and why they find the work so rewarding. While the main goal of this event was to build beds for local kids, we also wanted to show these amazing young ladies that they can do anything.
Safety demonstrations and education go hand-in-hand with girl power!
Many thanks to our sister company, Baseline Solar, who sponsored the cost of one bed, along with the organizations that made this impactful event happen.
