We've been loving this gorgeous fall weather and we made the most of it this week!🍂 Our favorite jobs were in the great outdoors—including several service entrance replacements and a porch fan installation for a local Airbnb.

We love this farmhouse/ industrial ceiling fan at a local Airbnb! Perfect for those days between summer & fall!

In Roanoke, this stately century-old home had a mess of meters, disconnect boxes and exposed cable. The wires were so corroded that they actually generated enough heat to fry the smart meter! We combined the two separate services back into one main service and installed a 16-ft rigid steel riser.

Nestor shows off the before— exposed conductors and a service split up into two duplex units. After— we installed a code-compliant meter disconnect combo and steel conduit to both breaker panels inside.

Service entrance replacements are complex and require coordination with your electric utility (typically AEP) and the permitting jurisdiction. They require complicated planning and a full day of hard physical labor but it's always worth it to see these befores and afters!

At this ranch home in Dublin, a falling tree branch had ripped this service off of the wall. We replaced the wires and installed new rigid steel conduit to protect the cable from the next storm!

We reused the meter can and cable going into the house, as it was in good condition. This allowed us to fix the major problem without bringing everything inside up to current code. We try to save our customers money whenever it is possible and safe to do so! (Note: the 'before' image is two photos merged)

We also installed these super cool back-to-back LED strip pendant lights over a kitchen island (left), and multiple in-ground well LED path lights (right). Our customer was tired of having her traditional landscape lights knocked over again and again by the USPS truck. These in-ground lights can withstand being run over and create a modern delineation from yard to driveway!

We love this time of year— the return of Virginia Tech students brings a fresh energy to Blacksburg and beyond, and the scorching heat of summer finally relents. We've been watching the construction of the new Cambria Amtrak Station a few blocks from our office and can't wait to see how it progresses. Autumn seems to always bring new adventures and projects and we're ready for it!
